Artist Statement

My artistic journey is driven by the control and creativity found within the studio environment. It's a realm where I meticulously craft unique worlds for each product I encounter, using dynamic lighting techniques and inventive styling to reveal their inherent beauty in ways that captivate the eye and intrigue the mind. Within the studio's controlled setting, I experiment with various lighting modifiers and camera angles, continuously refining my approach to capture the perfect shot that not only meets but exceeds my artistic vision. 

At the core of my creative process are the invaluable test days, where I venture into uncharted territories of artistic expression. These sessions serve as both laboratories for experimentation and platforms for growth, allowing me to push the boundaries of my craft while documenting every detail. From the intricacies of lighting setups to the nuances of camera settings, each element plays a vital role in shaping the final shot that emerges from the studio. 

Drawing inspiration from a diverse array of sources, including fellow still life photographers and painters like David Newton, I curate mood boards filled with images that serve as guiding lights in my artistic voyage. These mood boards provide me with invaluable insights and spark new ideas, propelling me forward on a quest to unlock the hidden beauty within the seemingly mundane. Through my art, I endeavor to challenge perceptions and evoke emotions, inviting viewers to rediscover the world around them through a lens of beauty and wonder. Ultimately, my goal is to transcend the ordinary and reveal the extraordinary, reminding us of all that beauty lies not only in the grand and extravagant but also in the simplicity of everyday objects waiting to be seen anew.
